Description
A great base to build from
or enjoy as is; engine rebuilt in 2013 and only 1,200 miles since; manual
overdrive; just the fun stuff left to get this Stag looking
great
First registered in November
1973, this Triumph Stag comes to us from six-year ownership where the car only
came out of its garage on sunny days.
Our vendor enjoyed taking his
Stag to local owner club trips and meets but is now looking to move his pride
and joy on to an energetic new owner.
A quick look online shows the
last MOT expired in January 2021 where it passed with no advisories. A look
in the history file shows an invoice that hints to a full body respray in
the original colour in February 1995, the bodywork still holding up 30 years on,
although it does have some areas that can be improved upon (see
photos).
Other invoices on file show a
new radiator was supplied by Rimmer Bros in 2013 along with new coolant hoses,
breather lines and an accelerator cable.
Another invoice from the same
supplier around the same time shows this Stag received what appears to be a full
engine rebuild including a new oil pump, cam followers, valves, “full engine
rebuild kit” (excluding the crank), head studs and supporting gaskets, along
with new rear shock absorbers. According to the MOT history it has only done
around 1,200 miles since.
The most recent invoice on
file is from 2017 and was for a new clutch, brake master cylinder and a new
starter motor.
Running and driving nicely on
site, we do note the starter motor is sticking every now and
then.
