Description
Originally a horse lorry;
showing under 50,000 miles; few owners; driven 40 miles to the sale; ideal for
shows
Now styled as a 7.5 ton recovery truck, this Bedford TK
originally had a horse box body with the cab painted a pale pastel blue, rather
than the current NATO green.
Running and driving, it was
driven to the sale under the steam of its six-cylinder 214 petrol engine, which
we are told had considerable work on recently, indicated too by parts receipts
on file. Only showing 45,900 miles, it was often used by its previous owner to
transport period vehicles to shows. What better way to transport them than on
another one!
Ramps, winch, tow bar and roof
beacons are fitted so there is no reason why it couldn’t be used for further
haulage duties.
There are old MOTs on file
from between 2004 and 2009. Now MOT-exempt of course, it was driven to us
for the auction from some 40 miles away. The V5C records just five previous
owners.
The bed on the back is 12.5ft
from the rear of the cab to end of the chassis with a further 4.5ft of beaver
tail.
The unloaded weight is less than 3000kg, so the truck can carry a
potential payload of 4500kg.
