Description
Smart MkII automatic example that's been the subject of
useful recent work including new hood re-chromed bumpers
Supplied new by Dutton Forshaw Ltd of Bristol in June 1976 this
rather smart, later model MkII Triumph Stag looks wonderfully period in its
cheery colour scheme with new tailor made black Mohair hood and black alloy
wheels with polished lip.
Under the bonnet, we
find the famous 3.0 litre Triumph V8 OHV engine which reputedly produced 145bhp
and 230NM of torque when new, driving the rear wheels in this example via Borg
Warner Type-35 three-speed automatic transmission.
Inside the cabin, we find black leather/vinyl interior with a
lovely dark walnut trim to the dash, electric windows and retro-fit Pioneer
radio/CD player. The cabin feels fresh and comfortable, presenting
well.
The history file includes the V5C
recording 11 former keepers to our vendor who has enjoyed the car for the last
three years, improving the car during this time – it presents well both atop and
underneath including having the bespoke hood fitted, the wheels refurbished, new
front bushes, the bumpers re-chromed, new seat foams fitted and new front
lights.
In addition, we find the Triumph Stag
engine service notes book, the original Passport to Service recording two stamps
by the supplying dealer in June 1976 (PDI) and in July 1977 at 23,307
miles. A note in the ‘Vehicle
Diary’ section suggests the car was treated to new timing chains at 63,000 miles
and typical head gasket work (including being de-coked) at 67,559 miles
(undated).
Furthermore, the file also includes
seven old MOTs plus a selection of more historic bills dating back to the early
90s.
