Range Rover 4.0 SE (P38)
Appealing truck with 4.0 V8 power
in desirable black over cream showing under 100k with a clean MOT until March
2023
Dating from September 1997, this P38 series Range Rover was
purchased from us last year, having come to us from a deceased estate. It
had been in storage since 2014. Our vendor has enjoyed the car for the last
10 months, but has found it increasingly difficult to park where he
lives.
The vehicle is in 4.0 SE spec powered by
the GEMS Lucas 4.0 Rover V8 developing 190bhp and 320Nm of torque driving all
four wheels via ZF’s 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission with low ratio option
for off road use.
Finished in desirable black with
factory optional light guards and 19" alloy wheels from a later L320 series
Range Rover Sport, the car looks and sits well bar some fade evident to the
bonnet.
Inside, we find contrasting cream
leather interior piped black and retro-fit black headlining. In addition, we see
walnut trim, electric windows, mirrors, trip computer, cruise control and EAS
Air suspension which looks to work as it should at the time of
photography.
The history file includes the
owner’s pack with manuals and service book revealing 10 stamps, the last in
August 2006 at 62,015 miles by Autotec of Yardley although all previous 9 stamps
were by Land Rover main agents.
In addition,
we find the V5C showing 7 former keepers to the current, a few recent bills for
a pair of new tyres, new battery and service in September 2021 costing £423
which included a new throttle potentiometer and ABS sensor plus current MOT
valid until March 2023 with no advisories recorded. The MOT history shows the vehicle to
have been off the road between 2013/4 and March of this year, the mileage in
2013 being 94,568 miles to the current indicated of 98,840.
A nice truck with potential to be very nice with some cosmetic
work, and given the upwards trend in values of the P38 is well worth a
look.
