1979 Triumph TR7 Coupe
Rare to find Coupe;
very clean and smart with just over 100k showing; five owners from new; MOT Oct
2021 although Tax and MOT exempt
This crisp and nicely prepared TR7
came into the hands of the vendor early last year. When he spotted it for sale,
he simply couldn't resist, but admits now that his 'eyes are a bigger than his
garage' and so it needs to move on.
Supplied with recent history
detailing restoration work undertaken in 2015/16, it had spent the previous 10
years in storage. Its owner, a self confessed professional mechanic spent £2,052
on parts alone, the work extending to a full engine strip and rebuild as well as
numerous small parts and details.
This work has stood the test of time
well, the car having been driven some 50+miles to the sale. The car
as purchased had an aftermarket set of alloys fitted, but came with the
original wheels and fittings which have been refurbished and put back on the car
with new tyres. The file includes a current V5c showing 10 previous keepers and
five old MOTs, the current 'no advisory' ticket running until October 2021
although of course it is both Tax and MOT exempt.
The MOT history online
suggests the mileage is correct, the odometer having just tipped over the
100,000 mile mark.
Well presented and with a smart interior too, the
survival rate of the the Coupe version seems significantly less than its rag-top
sibling which is a pitty as they offer a classic '70s wedge shape which has
stood the test of time better than most.
