Offered from a deceased estate; originally retailed from Warwick Wright Ltd, London in 1950; runs and drives, covered over 50 miles travelling to us; not concours but certainly respectable Note: Further images added

Originally purchased by Charles Winslow-Taylor from Warwick Wright Ltd in New Bond Street, this Bentley Mk VI first rolled out of Crewe in July 1950.

According to research completed by one of the owners, it seems that ownership shortly passed on to Taylors business, the Basil Street Hotel of Knightsbridge and by 1959 was in the hands of its third owner up in Liverpool. The next recorded change of owner was in 1994 before moving to the current owners late husband in 2015. The V5C states first registration in 1990 so it is likely it was out of the UK at some point before 1990. On file are details of this research including copies of the original Bentley works records confirming engine, chassis and body numbers.

Although this Mk VI spent a number of years during the early 2000s with a SORN, it appears to have been MOTd during this period, so had been kept ticking over. In fact, it was driven to Brightwells, over 50 miles with no hiccups after being taken for an MOT only the day before which it passed with flying colours. The family who own the car are no strangers to classic and vintage cars, so although there are very few recent invoices, one would assume that it has been kept fairly well over the years with the occasional home DIY service.

For those of you that would like a useable, working and driving Bentley, this may well be for you but if it is concours you are after, you may need to open your cheque book and spend a little more money on it! While the original maroon leather interior is nicely patinated, the paintwork is not as magnificent as it would have been coming out of the factory. This is evident in the photographs, but if one often takes the Bentley to local point to points and drives down muddy leafy lanes, then who needs a perfect paint job!
