Description
1999 Porsche Boxster 2.5 (986)
Manual 986 series model with black leather sports
seats; Sport Design pack example that's covered 74,983
miles
Supplied new in July 1999 and hailing (as some of the
production did) from Porsche's factory in Finland (502) it's finished
in appropriate Arctic Silver with contrasting black leather Sport seats
(983), Sport design pack (012), traction control with ASR (222) and ABD (224),
2-way electric sports seats (375 & 376 - driver and passenger), 17inch
Carrera twist alloy wheels (396), 3-spoke steering wheel (436), removable wind
deflector (551) the car has a good spec with manual transmission, all the better
to work the sonorous 2.5 flat-six sat amid-ships.
The history file
supports the car's 74,983 miles with a ring binder of documentation including
the V5C, 15 old MOT certificates, receipts for work and parts, and the owner's
manual and service book showing 11 entries, the last in October 2020 by Village
Auto services of Tewkesbury at 74,880 miles which included fitment of a
starter motor and fresh brakes. The first 6 stamps are all by Dick Lovett
Porsche and Broughtons Bentley of Cheltenham. We also see a further stamp for a
brake fluid change in 2002 and 2 more for Long life condition reports in 2001
and 2002 respectively.
Invoices on file show the car had a alignment
check in October this year, a new coolant expansion tank and thermostat in 2017
at a cost of some £620 and in 2015, fitment of a Cobra rear parking sensor
system at a cost of £210. In addition there is a thick user manual on the Parrot
Blue-tooth system installed in the car - ideal lockdown reading
material!
Presenting well and running as it should, this Boxster
represents affordable entry to Porsche ownership with enough poke to have fun
with and comes ready to be enjoyed with a current MOT valid until September 2021
with one advisory for perishing to the NSF tyre (both front tyres have
since been replaced).
