Lot Ended
Description
Substantially restored in 2020 with £1,500 spent on parts alone; only
three owners since 1977; ready for new adventures
First registered
in London in March 1937, this Ruby Mk2 has had just three owners since 1977,
according to HPI. The previous owner was in the process of restoring the car and
had attended to the bodywork and the interior and some of the mechanical aspects
before he passed away in 2010 (see last photo).
The car then lay in dry storage until our vendor acquired it in March
2020. Over the COVID lockdown he finished off the restoration, as detailed in
copious notes on file, with some £1,500 spent on parts
alone.
This included an overhaul of the brakes;
steering; suspension; front axle king pins; prop shaft; electrics; new clutch;
carb rebuilt; new hoses; LED running lights; rebuilt sunshine roof; new 6v
battery; new exhaust; full service plus much else
besides.
The vendor states that she now runs and
drives well with effective brakes and steering. She has certainly been starting
promptly and running well as we have moved her around on site, with healthy oil
pressure.
She comes with some useful handbooks
and technical literature, plus notes on starting and driving. She even has air
conditioning - well, an opening front windscreen at any
rate...
Only reluctantly for sale due to lack of
storage, this cute little Ruby is now in need of a caring new owner
who can reap the benefits of all the work carried out to
date.
