Description
Only 24,000 miles from new; 9 service stamps; magazine
featured; fantastic condition throughout; find a better
one!
Supplied new by Stratstone of
Leicester in March 2009, this stunning Elise S Series Two has the 134bhp 1.8
Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine and 5-speed manual transmission which makes it good for
0-60 in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 128mph.
Finished in Solar
Yellow with a black interior it has covered just 24,020 miles with an excellent
service history comprising 9 stamps in the book, the last at 23,743 miles in
March 2024 plus various supporting invoices. That gives an average service
interval of under 2,700 miles – pretty obsessive by any standards.
In January 2020 this very car was featured in a group test in
Absolute Lotus magazine and it was recently featured in the
motoring pages of The Sun in May 2024 when it was described as
follows:
“Driving this S2 isn’t
just a pleasure because it’s an Elise S2: it’s a joy because it’s a time
capsule. This car feels like it’s been cryogenically frozen and then woken up as
a sprightly teenager. It boasts just 23,000 miles on the clock and has barely
seen a drop of road water having been kept in pristine condition. It doesn’t
know what winter feels like, having been coddled away more securely than a
hibernating hamster.
The condition? Immaculate
doesn’t even begin to cover it: this might be the best-kept Elise in the UK. The
steering and gearbox feel as tight and fresh as the day it left the factory. The
power? All the horses are still firmly in the stable, ready to bolt.
Cosmetically it’s perfect – no sill damage, no osmosis on the paint. It’s
baffling why the previous owners didn’t drive it more”.
Our vendor (the fifth owner)
acquired the car in June 2017 from Lotus specialist Barry Ely Sports Cars of
Maldon. Invoices show that it had new Yokohama front tyres in January 2018 at
19,000 miles. In November 2016 it also had a 2-Bular exhaust box to improve the
sound of the Toyota engine which cost £645. The black 7-spoke alloy wheels are
the original factory items, 6.0 x 16” at the front, 7.5 x 17” at the rear. It
has an MOT until June 2025 with no advisories recorded, and it has barely had
any advisories throughout its life with none since
2015.
As you can see in the photos,
this Elise is in fantastic condition throughout – just as described by The Sun –
and you would be hard-pressed to find a better example anywhere. Your only
dilemma will be whether to enjoy the car or tuck it away as an
investment…
Please note that the private plate shown is being
retained by the vendor and it will revert to its original number (KX09
EZE) prior to the sale.
