Description
From a
deceased estate; recently recommissioned following 12 years in storage; clean
MOT; good running order; paintwork requires attention
First
registered in Birmingham in April 1987, this Range Rover Vogue has the 3.5 V8
fuel-injected petrol engine and is finished in British Racing Green with a grey
velour interior.
On offer here from a deceased estate, it comes with
very little history other than some invoices for what looks like a repaint in
1995 when it was owned by a Mr G Williamson of Birmingham (hence the private
plate GIW 7498; the original plate was D443 POV).
There are 19 old tax
discs which show that it was in use from 1992 – 2010 and it seems from the MOT
history online that it was then put into storage for a dozen years (2010 – 2022)
during which time the odometer got stuck on 25,605 miles so the true mileage
isn’t known.
In October last year the owner’s widow had the Range Rover
recommissioned by Beeches Garage of Coleford which included cleaning out the
fuel tank, fitting a new filter and fuel pump, fitting a new battery and having
the chassis cleaned and Schutz treated. It then sailed through its MOT with no
advisories recorded – in fact it has had very few advisories since 2005 at which
point it was showing 17,820 miles.
We are told that it runs and drives
well and it has certainly been starting promptly and running nicely as we have
moved it around on site.
As you can see in the photos, the cloth
interior looks clean and tidy apart from a split on the driver's
seat squab and the underside looks reassuringly solid. What lets the side down
is the paintwork which is micro-blistered all over and the chrome on the front
and rear bumpers which has rust bubbles here and there.
On offer here at
No Reserve, this Range Rover Classic seems eminently usable as it is and could
be smartened up over time as desired.
