Description
From a deceased estate;
early E39 boasting 5-speed manual transmission with 2.5 litre straight-six
petrol engine; only 89,000 miles indicated
Dating from February 1997, this early E39
generation BMW 5-series comes to us from a deceased estate and has been in
storage since early 2023.
Finished in Biarritz Blue, the car looks to be
in standard condition throughout with comfortable grey velour/cloth trim inside
and wood trim in desirable SE specification.
Under the bonnet, we find the 2.5 litre M52B25
six-cylinder petrol engine which develops 168bhp and 245nm of torque driving the
rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission.
The car shows just 89,000 miles having covered
little if any miles since early 2023 and presents well, although it would no
doubt benefit from a thorough valet and service/MOT.
At the time of writing we had not
received any paperwork with the car, although the estate hopes to be able to
locate and forward it to us (we are told it had a substantial history file).
Failing that, a new V5C can be applied for by post with form V62 or online for a
fee of £25.
The
E39 is widely regarded as one of the best cars BMW ever built in terms of
comfort, handling and build quality – as such, this lower mileage six-cylinder
manual example looks very appealing at the guide
suggested.
