Description
Tidy and appealing manual six-cylinder Baur convertible E30;
re-trimmed blue leather interior and replacement hood; last lady owner for 22
years; massive history back to 1992
Supplied new
by Woodrows Harnham Garage Ltd of Salisbury in March 1988 this tidy E30
generation of BMW 3-series comes to us in 320i Baur guise and is finished in
Alpine White II with Black Mohair Targa/Soft-top and sits upon its
original, period correct X-spoke alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet we find the 2.0-litre M20 series straight-six
engine which developed 127bhp when new, and 164NM of torque driving the rear
wheels of course, via five-speed manual transmission.
Inside the cabin, we find a re-trimmed Camden Sapphire blue leather
interior, electric windows, electric mirrors and of course the clever Baur
Targa, convertible top with centra roll bar for increased
safety.
The car shows 161,600 miles which is an
average of just 4,600 miles per annum over 35 years and presents very well with
but a few minor bits that may require cosmetic remediation in the future and
boasts an excellent interior.
Starting promptly the car moves around nicely on
site.
The car comes to us directly from storage
and has not seen much, if any use so far this year although does have a current
MOT valid until October 2024 recording no advisories. The MOT history shows how little use the
car has had in recent times, covering just under 2,000 miles in the last seven
years.
The history file includes the V5C
showing just six former keepers (the last, a lady and wife of the BMW Club
Chair) for some 22 years, an old V5C, the owner’s pack and service book boasting
some 23 stamps plus some hand written entries and PDI along with a further four
stamps for body inspection, 26 old MOTs and considerable file of invoices for
parts and maintenance dating back to the early 90s.
Recent works of note include replacement rubber fuel hoses in
August 2022, bill for an oil and filter change in July 2022, bill for a re-trim
of the interior in February 2015, replacement clutch slave cylinder in 2018,
timing belt service in 2016 at 158,953 miles, replacement Baur hood and Targa in
2014 costing some £750, dinitrol protection for the underside of the car in 2012
and various welding repairs in 2011/2012.
The
file also includes correspondence between various owners, owners club
information and various purchase receipts for the car dating back to 1992 when
the car had covered just 48,517 miles.
A smart
example, that critically comes with a six-pot engine and manual transmission,
lovely blue leather interior, replacement hood and boasts rarity given we don’t
see too many Baur versions anymore.
