Description
Highly appealing Wolf FFR - 'fitted for radio'; REMUS upgrade in 2008
(life extension upgrade) to inc. engine rebuild and fitment of PAS; rare to
find a RHD REMUS Wolf
Dating from April 1998 this
tough-looking Land Rover Defender 90 was in military service until being
demobbed and road-registered in July 2021, our vendor acquiring it a month
later.
This 90 is rather special,
being a RHD military Wolf 90 FFR ('fitted for radio’ as a comms vehicle) that
was upgraded to REMUS spec. This includes an engine rebuild (2.5 litre 300TDI);
fitment of power steering; bulkheads wax-filled; chassis
undersealed; roll-over protection; the cab has the addition of thermal and
ecoustic insulation behind the green radiation shields, plus a few other
details.
Inside, we find a pair of
vinyl front seats, fitment of a 12v system in the cab for charging, MOD bench
seats in the rear, front and rear cameras Autovox V5 inc. GPS readout in
the rear view mirror and a CB radio.
The vendor also added a standard towing hitch with 12v plug in addition
to the usual NATO hook.
The history file includes just
the V5C and note from vendor on what the truck is all about and the bits he’s
done. The current MOT is valid until June 2025 and records just one minor
advisory for deterioration of the exhaust and reveals our vendor has done
c.10,000km in it during his tenure. This has been replaced by a new
one. The vendor advises the last service (undocumented) included a
change of all fluids inc. engine, gearbox, both diffs and transfer
box.
Showing 97,433m, the truck
presents very well indeed and with such a high grade military spec it could
no doubt handle almost anything thrown at it.
