Description
Nice old MkII with the powerful 3.0 litre Six cylinder C-Series engine
and manual transmission with O/D; nicely patinated interior; scope for cosmetic
improvement; lots to like
Dating from July 1965,
this imposing Pininfarina-styled Wolseley 6/110 was the replacement for the 6/99
and offered an extra 3-inches of leg-room in the rear and 2-inch increase in
wheelbase.
In addition, the 6/110 boasted a power
increase, the 2.9 litre C-Series six-cylinder engine now offering 120Bhp driving
the rear wheels via four-speed manual transmission and optional overdrive as
fitted in this example.
Inside, we find a nicely
patinated oxblood leather interior with matching red carpets, wood veneer dash
which shows some signs of age and typical well laid out switchgear of the era
including original Silver radio.
Externally, the
paint work shows signs of a previous historic re-paint and would no doubt
benefit from some cosmetic TLC, but equally could be left as is and just
enjoyed.
Starting promptly and running well with
good oil pressure, the car sounded good, much like a Healey with which is shares
its engine, with good torque and a positive manual change to the
gearbox.
The history file includes the V5C
showing six former keepers, drivers handbook, five old MOTs and a couple
of handwritten notes.
