Description
Just 13,000 miles from new; family owned 1983-2022; smart example on
wires; overdrive; stainless steel exhaust; electronic ignition; tonneau; only
580 miles since last MOT in Dec 2022
Purchased new through
Mann Egerton in Derby, this last-of-the-line B Roadster wasn't registered
until mid-March 1981, a few months after the Abingdon factory had
closed.
Its first owner, Mr Daykin of Derby only kept it for 11 months,
the car passing to a gent in Southampton for a very short time before TC
Harrison of Bakewell (local Ford dealers) acquired it in March 1982 when it was
only a year old.
Although their name was to remain on the logbook until
2004, they sold it to a member of staff shortly after purchase and
he passed it to his son in 1996 who was to keep it until 2022 - a family
ownership of nearly 40 years. It was garaged throughout this period.
A
new owner was found in 2022 who sold it a year later due to advancing years,
making a total of five previous keepers.
There are bills on file for
regular service work and parts and its current owner has fitted a new
distributor with electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust.
No
fewer than 24 old MOTs show its glacial accumulation of mileage, which still
reads just 13,645 miles from new. The last was issued in December 2022 with no
advisories and it has only covered 580 miles since. A list of how the
miles built up over the years is shown in the photos.
Looking just
as one would expect of an unrestored MGB with so few miles on the clock,
this is a great opportunity to by a super example which is ready to
enjoy.
Bidders are advised that the V5C on file is not the latest and so
a new one will need to be applied for by the new owner in the usual
way.
