Lot Ended
Description
Imported to the UK from New York in 2004; dry stored since; comes
with parts to convert to RHD; part of a large private
collection
According
to the Heritage Certificate on file, this MGC left the factory in June 1968
and appears to have been exported to Canada. Originally presented in Snowberry
White, it has obviously changed colour over the years, but the present condition
would lend itself to be reverted back if restored.
It
has been owned by our vendor for the last 20 years and dry stored since
and was purchased from a gentleman in New Jersey in 2004 in approximately
the same condition you see it in today.
On
file is the original eBay listing from 2004 and it appears that it has indeed
hardly moved since, showing only 55,350 miles on the speedo.
After
making its way deeper into our vendor's collection and needing a complete
restoration, he has decided it now needs to be sold to someone with
the time and enthusiasm to get the job done. Included with the lot are some
parts to help convert to RHD, including steering rack, dash and
pedals.
Still
on file is the original invoice when imported and also the all important Customs
and Excise original stamped 386 form, which would potentially help with
registering with the DVLA if required.
It
should be noted that the VIN number details recorded on the car itself and the
import papers match as MGCU 002885, but the Heritage Certificate states it as
GCN1-U/2885. The commission number on the car is G52N/3153 P but on the
certificate it is G52N/826 P.
The
engine number on the certificate is stated as 29GA-RU-H/2072 although the engine
itself is 29GA RU-7H 3377 so we have to assume there was a change there at some
point.
