Description
Supplied new by Mann Egerton to the Chairman of Cadbury's; recent
£3,300 spend; bundles of history; smart interior; lots to
like
Originally registered in May 1990, this
Bentley does look in surprisingly good order for eight registered keepers and
125,000 miles.
This may be something to do with
having been initially delivered to Rolls-Royce dealers, Mann Egerton of
Nottingham (original delivery note in file) and the first owner being
believed to have been the Chairman of Cadbury's who was
chauffeur-driven.
Looking through the file on
the car, most owners have been recorded including a couple who affectionately
knew it as ‘Bertie the Bentley’ and another who kept a hotel who are likely to
have used it to collect guests.
Presented in
Brooklands Racing Green with magnolia hide interior and the traditional
lambswool carpets and walnut detail of course.
Maintenance and servicing seem to have been very regular, having a
stamp or two every year until 2002. Further recorded servicing was by Rolls
specialists until the most recent work carried out at Bentley Bristol in 2022 at
121,000 miles which included an overhaul of the suspension and other renewals of
lighting and pipework coming to a cost of £3,300.
There is a huge history file for this car documenting all sorts of
jobs over the years, and apart from the servicing, notable invoices include
removal and renewal of the gearbox in 2009, replaced steering rack in 2010,
replacement of the air conditioning unit in 2019.
The current MOT expires in March 2024 showing two advisories (oil
leak, but not excessive and nearside rear shock absorber has light misting of
oil).
Being offered with a very smart Bentley
car cover, G589 TTO was moved around very comfortably for our
photographs.
