Description
Lightly customised ex-Jersey Mini hand-finished in matt black;
de-bumpered; twin DTM-style exhaust; Halo lights; lift-off bonnet; bucket
seats
Dating from January 1989, this rather
menacing-looking Mini Mayfair was imported from Jersey and registered in the UK
by our vendor earlier this year.
Hand-finished
in Matt Black the car looks to be solid and has been de-bumpered giving it
something of a ‘Sebring’ style look with the grille from a Mk 1 Morris and
sits on a set of cool 10” alloy wheels with chunky tyres. We also note fitment of clear rear light
lenses, modern headlights with halo and clear indicators.
Under the bonnet, we believe the engine to be a 998cc lump as
stated in the log book with typical four-speed manual ‘box driving the front
wheels although it does sound rather fruity. We also note a sports coil, red HT leads
and engine block painted blue.
Inside, we find
a recent set of bucket seats, piano black finished dash, three-spoke steering
wheel, drilled metal door handles and window wipers and JVC stereo head
unit.
In the boot we find a spare wheel, jack,
battery and box of bits including another dash pod, Haynes manual, Jersey plates
and other bits and bobs.
The history file
includes the V5C showing one UK owner, current MOT valid until July 2024
recorded at 60,539 miles with one minor advisory (slight play in n/s/f
inner rack end), HMRC import docs, a few bills for sundry items earlier this
summer and a list of items that look to have needed attention mostly ticked
off.
Offering a lot of fun potential, this
looks to be a solid little car with scope to do more with or enjoy as
is.
