Description
Well cared-for low-mileage late-model Shadow I; stainless bumpers;
remote central locking; recent brake overhaul; in regular use; super colour
scheme; driven 30+miles to the sale
A hotelier from Skipton was the
first owner of this Shadow I. The service book shows that by 1989 it had still
only covered 9,558 miles so it can't have got much use, or maybe it plied its
trade taking guests to and from the station - who knows?
It was serviced
six times by Weybridge Automobiles in the late '80s and early '90s and there is
one more stamp in the book from Prescots Motor Carriages in 1994 by which time
it had still only covered 18,227 miles.
The bodywork was given a spruce
up in 2005 and there are a few areas around the arches which are now due some
attention, but nothing too serious. It was also fitted with stainless steel
bumpers front and rear in 2014 - a £1,200 spend.
Multiple invoices on
file cover this period, and later service work which has been carried out by
Royce Motor Services near Gloucester. In 2021 they carried out a service (at
37,470 miles) and sorted both hydraulic pumps. In 2022 it got a general service
and they fitted a new headlamp earlier this year.
Now showing 41,600
miles, the car has been in regular use, the vendor stating that he has averaged
20mpg on a run. It comes with 14 old MOTs to show the accumulation of mileage
and a recent ticket which expires in April 2024 showing no advisories.
It
was driven some 30 miles to the sale and is very reluctantly on offer due to
lack of covered storage.
Its nice colour scheme, good history and low
mileage make this Shadow I look mighty tempting at the guide
price.
