Description
Chirpy bright orange MGB; older professional restoration; 1,000 miles
on Unipart Goldseal engine ; a smart example ready to
go....
First registered on December 1st, 1981, this nice example has
had just four owners in its 42 years.
Showing 36,964 miles, although
we don't have documentary evidence that this is correct, the vehicle comes with
a newspaper clipping of its advert in July of 1984 with the car showing 27,000
miles. There are also detailed photographs and invoices of a full restoration at
the end of 1992, when the car had 35,361 miles on the clock, including a full
respray, a Unipart Goldseal replacement engine and much more. A note on
file shows it has covered just 1,300 miles since.
All work was carried
out by the MG Owners Club (workshop) Ltd along with the supply of all parts,
with invoices totalling nearly six thousand pounds (over twelve and a half
thousand pounds in today’s money).
The vendor kept receipts for a new
genuine Lucas ignition coil plus points and condenser set, new wheel nuts
all round, accelerator cable and a new battery in January of this
year.
According to GOV.UK the car was MOT’d in September 2021 and then
again in May 2022, only originally failing on the offside dipped beam not
working along with the windscreen washer and a deteriorated steering rack
boot.
Cosmetically the car presents very nicely, the orange paint work
still gleaming today, with only a few minor areas of bubbled paint in the usual
MGB areas, inside the clean and well-maintained theme continues with very
minimal wear across the board.
Starting and driving well on site, this
smart little car looks ready for a new owner to enjoy.
