No Reserve
Freshly and
comprehensively restored with body-off, bare metal rebuild; new hood, RHD
conversion - an impressive example ready to run-in and
enjoy
Dating from the 6th
August 1968 this Lovely Triumph TR250 was originally a North American Export
market LHD car dispatched in September 1968 via Walter Hagen & Co of
Krefeld, Germany to the US and was originally finished in Royal Blue with black
trim and black hood.
The original spec included
185 x 15” tubeless Goodyear redband tyres, a heater, laminated windscreen,
US/Canadian spec lights, steering column lock, jack and tool roll and spare
wheel.
Imported back to the United Kingdom and
registered here in December 2022, the car has been completely stripped to the
bare chassis and restored from the ground up by a retired engineer and bodyworks
chap on the Welsh border ( a far cry from North Carolina where the car came
from!).
Our man converted the TR from LHD to
RHD and also undertook a colour change from Royal Blue to White and retrimmed
the car to the Oxblood we see now. The engine was also
worked on whilst new suspension was fitted along with new exhaust
and soft top. The original overdrive unit is no longer with the car having
been removed sometime previously.
The history
file includes a host of bills for parts purchased, including piston rings,
paint, soft-top, clutch kit, rubber gromets, fixings, springs, hub caps, brake
unions, gaskets, seals, hoses, door handles, timing chain, bushes, fuse box,
trim clips, carpet set, brake pads, points, condenser, hand brake cables, door
seals, brake hoses, speedo cable, head gasket set, heater valve, boot hinges,
shock absorber links, sill caps, big end bearings, water pump, oil, badges front
and rear wing fitting kits, brake discs, front shocks etc etc etc.
The the vendor advises us that the engine currently has running-in
oil in it, and suggests 100miles should be plenty, an oil change then
neccesary to normal oil for continued motoring.
The file also includes the US title, Heritage Certificate, import
charges and a selection of photos of the works in progress down to the bare
chassis.
