Description
Appealing earlier 3.4 C2 with
removable factory hard-top; after market body kit and wheels; six-speed manual
box and 57,528 miles; only 1,200 miles in the last 13
years
Supplied
new by Dick Lovett Porsche Centre, Swindon in May 1999 this rather striking
Porsche 911 is of course a 996 Gen I Cabriolet and is finished in Arctic Silver
with the desirable, removable colour-coded factory hard-top, black Mohair
soft-top and boasts an after-market body kit (sills, front and rear lower bumper
corner extensions/aero) and larger Techart style deep dish, polished rim,
staggered fitment 19” Kahn split rim alloy wheels that have just been
refurbished with two new tyres.
Under
the engine cover at the rear, we find the earlier and arguably more robust 3.4
litre flat-six engine which develops 296bhp driving the rear wheels only here as
a Carrera 2 via six-speed manual transmission offering a zero to sixty dash of
just 5.2 seconds and top speed of 170mph.
Inside
the cabin, we find graphite grey ruffled leather seats (CG) with electric
adjustment, digital climate control with AC, Porsche CR-22 sound system, heated
rear screen for hard and soft tops, electric windows and electric mirrors plus
of course electric soft top operation.
Looking
at the option codes for this car, it looks like the car came off the production
line and was subject to the Porsche bespoke option 09991.
The
car shows just 57,528 miles and presents well as pictured, starting promptly and
running well as we moved it around for these shots and
video.
The
history file includes the V5C revealing just five former keepers to the current
lady owner, and former lady owner of some 15 years, the owner’s pack and service
book recording seven stamps, the last in 2013 at 56,722 miles by Pro9 Porsche
Ltd of Redditch. There is a further stamp for a brake fluid change plus three
for long-life condition reports.
The
file also includes the original purchase invoice for some £74,551, service and
maintenance bills from its earlier life, receipt for sale in 2008 for £19,550
and at least 10 old MOTs. The current MOT is valid until August 2023 and
records five minor advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk), some
relating to having covered such little mileage, just under 1,200 since 2010
including c.7 years in storage between 2010 and 2021 although two for tyres have
since been attended to.
Crying
out for more regular use, this is a sharp looking car with low mileage and
a nice spec.
