Description
UK supplied RHD narrow body 1.6 turbo HF IE example with scope for
some recommissioning and cosmetic improvement
Dating
from January 1991 this Lancia Delta is finished in Red and sits upon a set of
period 14” four-stud pepper pot alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, as a Delta HF ie, we find a 1.6 litre
four-cylinder engine with single turbocharger, Weber IAW integrated electronic
ignition and fuel injection which developed 140bhp when new, with power being
sent to the front wheels only via five speed manual
transmission.
This example, a late MY86 year
facelift car benefits from grey Alcantara and striped cloth interior and similar
instrumentation to the four-wheel drive versions. In this car we note fitment of an
after-market steering wheel – buyers please note this is not securely fastened
and is loose.
The car evidently requires some
cosmetic work with signs of age/usage to the body and marks/scuffs etc as
pictured to the paintwork too. Some of the door handles also require attention,
the passenger door can only be opened from inside because the external handle is
incomplete – see images.
The car starts and
runs, and is rather fruity sounding courtesy of the big bore exhaust although we
did note 1st gear was not easy to locate although once located did
seem to work normally.
Evidently in need of some TLC before
being used in haste again, the car did pass its last MOT in March 2022 without
advisory, this recorded at 110,194 miles, the car currently showing just a
handful more at 110,293 miles.
The history file
includes an owner’s wallet with service booklet relating to another Lancia (but
not this one), a Lancia anti-corrosion guarantee booklet and some old invoices
from the 90s as well as a few more recent bills for bits purchased including
wheels, service items and ignition leads in 2017.
There is no V5C on file so the new owner will need to apply for a
replacement log book online or via the necessary forms.
