Lot Ended
Description
Mildly customised and lowered; various new parts; funky sound system;
runs and drives
First
registered in November 1968, this VW Beetle 1300 comes with no real history
other than a couple of dozen invoices from 2020/21 which show the purchase of
numerous new parts from air-cooled specialists, Machine 7 of
Nuneaton.
These include: upper and lower ball joints; inner and outer tie
rod ends; front and rear coil over shock absorbers; pancake air filter; plugs,
points, rotor arm, condenser; sump plate studs x6; rocker cover gaskets; oil
change kit; interior door and window winder handles; left and right rubber door
seals etc. How many of these parts have actually been fitted is a moot point – a
fair few of them are still in the front luggage compartment, along with a set of
four whitewall tyre bands.
The MOT history
shows that the last MOT was issued in July 2016 with no advisories, at which
point the mileage was 77,981 and it has only covered 3,250 miles since then.
Classed as a Historic Vehicle, it is now MOT-exempt and free to tax.
As
you can see in the photos, it has been mildly customised and lowered and has a
funky sound system with the speakers mounted inside a suitcase behind the rear
seats. Other than that, we can’t really tell you much about it except that it
has been starting promptly and running well as we have moved it around on site,
although the brakes are not very good and will need attention.
