Supplied new by Aberdeen Audi in
October 2008 this monstrous C6 Generation of RS6 comes in desirable Avant
(estate) form, and is finished in Blue, and rides on 20inch five-segment spoke
alloy wheels finished in black shod with decent Michelin Pilot Sport
tyres.
Under the bonnet, we find an epic 5.0
40-valve DOHC V10 FSI engine with variable valve timing and a brace of turbos
which develops a colossal 571Bhp and whopping 650NM of torque which made it
Audi’s most powerful car ever at launch, and considerably more powerful than
either of its rivals from BMW and Mercedes (M5 and E63) and required some seven
radiators to keep everything cool.
Power was
typically sent to all-four wheels via Audi’s legendary Haldex system and Torsen
T3 ATB (automatic torque biasing) differential with 40:60 split (it can send up
to 100% to the rear and 80% to the front if needed) via six-speed ZF 6HP28A
automatic/tiptronic transmission permitting a 0-60mph time of just 4.6 seconds
for the Avant and a top speed (de-restricted) of 170mph.
Inside, we find the usual, super Audi quality with light grey
leather interior featuring RS6 embossed Sports seats with memory and electric
adjustment in the front, heated front and rear seats, carbon fibre trim, Audi’s
MMI infotainment system with BOSE sound system, cruise control, electric
windows, electric mirrors, parking sensors, on-board computer, multi-zone
climate control with AC, engine start/stop buttons, multi-function steering
wheel, paddles for Tiptronic gear change and automatic Xenon
lights.
The car shows 82,742 miles and looks
well, starting promptly and feeling immensely powerful as we were treated to a
short blast down the road in it.
The car looks to be lowered with BR Racing adjustable suspension,
adjustment C-spanner included and we are told it has also been re-mapped – it
did feel exceptionally fast, but they are in standard guise
too.
The history file includes the V5C
recording seven former keepers to the current along with the owner’s pack,
manuals, 1 old MOT, a purchase receipt, and duplicate service book revealing six
stamps and three hand-written entries including the last in December 2019 at
74,630 miles for an oil and filter.
The last stamped service looks to have been in November 2016 b7 Stansted
Audi at 44,342 miles.
The book pack, V5c and
some bills were unfortunately in our vendor’s Range Rover which was recently
stolen, the owner’s pack found on the side of the road, wet and returned by a
helpful individual who spotted it, as a result there has been some water damage
to the manuals and some other docs including what looks like a dyno sheet
following the remap and as such are illegible. The service book has suffered limited
water damage but is largely legible.
The vendor
tells us he recently spend £4,000 on a reconditioned gearbox but cannot find the
paperwork to support this. The current MOT is valid
until March 2024 recording no advisories and looks ready to enjoy and thrill
with that mega engine.
Bidders please note, the
RS6 was recorded Category S in January 2020. That aside, it looks most tempting at
the guide price given similar cars not recorded make late teens to early
twenties.
