Description
Only 60,500 miles with 14 service stamps to date; factory hard top and
new electric soft top; recent new rear tyres; an exceptionally
clean example of this high-revving performance hero
Supplied new
by SB Honda of Wakefield in December 2005, this gorgeous Honda S2000 GT has had
just three owners to date, the current since 2013. It has covered 60,500 miles
with an impeccable service history comprising 14 stamps in the book, the last at
56,949 miles in March 2021 – giving an average service interval of just 4,000
miles.
Invoices show that in January last year
it had new Yokohama rear tyres and a full geometry set-up. The front and rear
brake discs were renewed in 2016 at c.40k miles. It has an MOT until
27th March 2023 so it will need a new one before it can be driven
away. The current MOT had two advisories (o/s/r brake pipe corroded/covered in
grease; o/s/r outer sill to arch corroded - see last two photos).
As you can see in the photos, it
looks very smart with barely any signs of wear that we could
distinguish apart from some flaking paint on the red engine cover. The Suzuka
Blue Metallic paintwork is exemplary and the blue leather interior is remarkably
clean and fresh. A UK-only GT model, it is fitted with a factory hard top and
also has an electrically operated blue soft top which was renewed
recently and functions as it should. It also comes with two keys and
the original owner’s handbook.
A
post-2003 facelift model, it has the 247bhp F20C DOHC VTEC 2-litre engine with a
screaming 8,800rpm redline and, at 124hp per litre, the highest specific power
output of any naturally aspirated production car. Power is sent to the rear
wheels via a six-speed manual box and a Torsen limited slip diff which makes it
good for 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 150mph.
A proper driver’s car with perfect 50:50 weight distribution and
Honda’s fabled reliability, this is a true modern classic that will stick a big
grin on your face whenever you floor the loud pedal and head for that manic
redline!
