Lot Ended
Description
1984 BMW 735i SE (E23)
No Reserve
From
a deceased estate; two owners, the current since 1988; hidden away with Lot
158 for the last 4 years and requiring some recommissioning
Dating from September 1984 this cool old 7 comes from
the E23 generation and is in desirable 735i form. Finished in dark green, the
car sits on a set of Lenso X-spoke alloy wheels painted gold with polished lips.
The car appears also to have been lowered and is
fitted with chrome wheel arch lips to accentuate the style, shape and stance of
the car.
The 735 comes to us along with the
preceding Lot from a deceased estate and comes with no documentation at all bar
the keys, so the buyer will need to apply to DVLA via form V62 for a new log
book with cheque for £25. The
Experian report does however show the car has been in the current ownership
since 1988 with just one former keeper.
We have
not attempted to start the car given its been in storage for the last 4/5 years
but it rolls freely enough. The
last MOT on record was in May 2018 which it passed with no advisories at 202,125
miles – the odometer currently shows 202,158 miles.
As with Lot 158, it has had some rather unusual things
done to it, with extra switches and other bits fitted inside the cabin along
with a coating of black underseal-like substance and much red paint and
tape/cable ties under the bonnet for reasons unclear. It would no doubt benefit from a major
service and cleaning to restore it back to what it should
be.
Under the bonnet we find the 3.4 litre fuel
injected M30 six-cylinder petrol engine which developed 218Bhp and 310NM of
torque, driving the rear wheels here via four speed automatic transmission
(introduced in 1984 to replace the old three-speed unit).
Looking properly retro, this old cruiser could have life left
in it yet but needs a fair amount of work to put right some of the
more unusual features added to the car by the last owner.
On offer at No Reserve, the highest bid takes it
home.
