1998 TVR Chimaera 450

Appealing face-lift 4.5 V8 Chimaera in presentable order showing just 38,000 miles on offer at a 'come and get me' estimate!

Dating from August 1998 this (1^st) facelift example of the popular TVR Chimaera comes to us in desirable 450 form, meaning under the bonnet we find a bored out version of the Rover V8, here developing 285Bhp and 420Nm of torque driving the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission offering a zero to sixty time of just 4.7 seconds and top speed of 160mph…

Finished in dark Blue with matching dark Blue Mohair hood with removable centre section to create a Targa option as well as full convertible the car sits upon its original 16” five-spoke alloy wheels and also looks to have retained its standard exhaust system.

Inside, we find beige leather with blue carpets and two-tone dash/door cards.  The car shows just 38,355 miles which cannot be verified due to lack of history, however the vehicle's online MOT history dates back to 2005 at which time the car showed just 31,434 miles with a gap of nine years between 2005 to 2014 at 31,531 miles suggesting the car was off the road, which may account for the low mileage indicated.

Within the history file, we find only the current V5C, old V5C, two old MOT certificates plus the current, valid until June 2023 recording no advisories, which is always positive news for any old TVR. The cherished TWR registration is included with the car.

Starting promptly and running nicely as we have moved it around on site, the car looks well with only some minor marking to the interior and typical stone chips to the front end and a few marks to the boot (as pictured).  On offer at a ‘come and get me’ estimate, this potentially low mileage Chimaera 450 looks mighty tempting given how values have risen in recent years.
