1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II

Nice old car with just three former owners (the 1st from new until 2015!) with scope for mild cosmetic improvement indicating just 67,000 miles; driven 100 miles to the sale

Finished (new) in Chestnut, this appealing old Shadow II dates from February 1979 and was supplied new by H.A. Fox (Wadham Stringer) Ltd of Dover Street, London and registered XPP 2.

Inside, we find beige leather upholstery with Walnut trim, electric front seats, Hitachi radio/Cassette and more modern unit below, electric windows, power steering and acres of period luxury.

The history file includes the V5C showing three former owners to the current of seven years, the original owner’s pack with Warranty information and manuals along with the service booklet showing 16 stamps, the last in 1999 at 54,644 miles by William G Pullar, Rolls Royce Services of West Sussex. 

The service book also confirms a speedo change in August 1987 at 27,752 miles – however, given the next stamp in March 1989 is at 31,455 miles - we assume the speedo although changed was re-set at zero given the car currently indicates 40,054 miles and the difference added on to the mileage at change to create the totals in the service stamp section suggesting the actual mileage to be c.67,000.

There is a bill in support of the speedo change, which was carried out at the then owner’s house costing £135.  Furthermore, the history file also includes a HPI report showing the first owner (XPP2) owned the car from new right through to June 2015 – a most impressive ownership period.

The 6.75 N/A V8 Shadow II is of course tax and MOT exempt, the last MPT expired just earlier this year in April, which recorded 10 minor advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk) and looks well bar some minor cosmetic paint defects as pictured and was driven some 100 miles to the sale.
