Description
1989 Land Rover 110 Perentie 6x6
Originally
Australian Army; fitted with the Isuzu turbo charged engine; no VAT on
vehicle
It is
understood that this is one of two Perenties shipped over from Australia in the
1990s by Land Rover, specifically to be promoted/displayed around military shows
in the UK, including Farnborough in circa 1992 (photograph on file and shown
here, we suspect is the car). The other vehicle may be the one in the
famous Dunsfold collection.
Originally it would have had the
hoops and canvas to the back but is now presented with a British military comms
body and has the original drop sides also included.
First registered with the DVLA in
1999, there have been various miscellaneous parts purchased over the years,
mainly purchased by its long term owner form 2002 until 2021, when it is
understood to have covered approx 50,000 miles.
It should be noted that one
previous owner is known to have raised the final drive gearing to give it
‘longer legs and economy’ so this has resulted in the speedo being slightly
inaccurate, hence the white marks on the dial!
Perenties feature a selectable 6x6/ 6x4 drive
with diff lock and Hi/low transfer. It
now shows 82,305 miles, was driven 50 miles to Brightwells for the sale, comes
with two extensive workshop manuals, the chassis and cab are galvanised as was
standard, there are recently fitted new tyres and battery and there is very
handy looking winch still fitted to the front, which appears to be complete,
although has not been tested.
