1983 Ford Sierra XR4i

Reserve
Interesting two-owner example; from a deceased
estate; long term lady ownership; last on the road in 2019; last MOT (clean)
expired Aug-20 showing 97,948 miles; for recommissioning
Supplied by Skyway Ford in Liverpool and dating from August 1983,
this MkI Ford Sierra XR4i has been in sole lady ownership from new and is on
offer from a deceased estate, the owner passing away last year.
It was
taken off the road when the pandemic hit and has remained so until pulled out of
the garage ahead of the sale.
Finished in
typical white with the bi-plane rear spoiler the XR4i features the 2.8-litre
Cologne V6 engine which developed (when new) 148bhp, driving the rear wheels via
five-speed manual transmission. The
XR4i was replaced in 1985 by the XR4x4 all-wheel drive
version.
Inside, we find the typical XR4i spec
with blue and grey cloth seats, electric windows, heated rear screen, front fog
lights, original radio/cassette player, cassette storage deck and manual
sunroof.
The car shows just 97,948 miles
covered by Mrs Oates who bought the car new. The car would now benefit from some
recommissioning/light restoration with signs of age/mileage etc evident to the
bumpers, paint and some interior trim as pictured.
We
have had the car running and driving around for the images but it would clearly
benefit from a major service and check-over given its been stood for a few
years.
The V5C is enroute to us from the
deceased’s niece in the States but we have a scanned copy on file confirming
sole ownership which is all we have on file bar the owner's pack including the
Manual and the original Service Book with six old stamps (by the supplying
dealer) to June 1987 at 34,500 miles.
The last
MOT expired in August 2020 and recorded no advisories. The MOT history shows the car covered
less and less miles in the final few years before her passing, covering just
7,000 miles between test in 2015 and the last in 2019 and only a few hundred
between tests in the final years.
On offer at
No Reserve, the highest bid takes this popular 80’s icon home.
