1973 Ford Escort MkI 1300XL

From a deceased estate; recently serviced with various new parts; stainless steel exhaust; driven 100 miles to the sale; nice condition throughout

This smart-looking Ford Escort 1300XL was first registered in June 1973. Sadly there is very little history with the car but it has had just five owners, according to the V5C, the current since October 2021. We imagine that it has probably been restored at some point because it looks very tidy both inside and out, with just a few blemishes here and there as shown in the photos.

An online MOT history check shows that it has been in regular use in recent years, clocking up some 14,500 miles since 2011, the odometer currently showing 41,834 miles. The last MOT expired in September this year with just a couple of minor advisories (play in n/s/f steering rack inner joint; n/s/r inner suspension component mounting area slightly corroded). The V5C records it as a Historic Vehicle so it is now MOT-exempt and free to tax.

Invoices show that it had a full service and health check in March 2021 at 40,134 miles. Later that year various new parts were also fitted including a new ignition kit, new spin-on oil filter, new battery and a new stainless steel exhaust.  

On offer here from a deceased estate at a modest guide price, it was driven almost 100 miles to the sale and has been starting easily and running well as we have moved it around on site.
