1991 Mazda Eunos V-Spec (MkI)

Desirable 1.6-litre V-Spec Roadster with tan leather
and timber Nardi steering wheel; WolfRace 17" alloys and poished roll
bar
Dating from 1991, this Mazda Eunos (MX5) MkI
is finished in gleaming black, sitting on what looks like lowered
suspension and wears a set of after-market 17” five-spoke Wolfrace alloy wheels.
It also features ‘Lexus-style’ rear light clusters which really help to
give the car its unique look.
Being the JDM
(Japanese Domestic Market) V-spec version of the MX5, known as the Eunos, it has
a better spec than UK cars including tan leather interior with integral
speakers in the head rests, Nardi timber steering wheel, timber gearknob and
handbrake handle, wood affect trim, air conditioning (untested), electric
windows, electric mirrors and power steering.
In addition, we find a
useful polished roll bar, Sony face-off radio/CD player, metal starter button
(conventional ignition), rear fog light switch, Roadster branded metal door
card/speaker cover sections and manually operated tan vinyl
soft-top.
Under the bonnet, sits a fuel
injected 1.6 litre B6ZE (RS) four-cylinder DOHC engine which was specifically
designed for the Eunos/MX5 and develops 115bhp and 136NM of torque driving the
rear wheels via five-speed M526 manual transmission giving great performance for
its size and weight ensuring proper driver involvement and huge fun
factor.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing the car to have been imported and registered in the UK in March 2000
since when it’s had six former keepers to the current, an old V5C, couple of
sundry bills including for a service in 2010 at 104,000Km, one old MOT and the
current valid until March-23 recording no advisories and showing the car to have
covered only a little over 1,000km each year between tests for the past few
years whilst residing in Cornwall.
Ready to be
enjoyed, this Eunos MkI looks and feels the part and is on offer at No Reserve,
so the highest bid takes it home. Absolutely worth a look, particularly
given the way they have taken off in price of late!
Buyers please
note, the Experian report states this car was subject to Category-D insurance
claim in February 2001.
