2007 Alfa Romeo Spider JTS 2.2
AMENDMENT
Few
owners; good service history and last serviced only 900 miles ago; six-speed
manual; million dollar looks at a Poundland price!
Launched in 2006, the Alfa Romeo Spider (Type 939) was a
convertible version of the equally gorgeous Brera coupe. In 2.2 JTS form, as
here, it was powered by a fizzy 185bhp 2.2-litre 16v inline-4 petrol engine
mated to six-speed manual transmission which sent the power to the front wheels
and could accelerate to 60mph in 8.8 seconds with a top speed of 138mph and
30mpg economy.
Strictly a two-seater, Alfa
chose to ditch the ludicrously small rear seats fitted to the Brera in favour of
two lockable storage bins which supplement the 200-litre capacity of the boot
and give ample room for shopping or luggage for a weekend away. The electric
soft top took just 25 seconds to deploy and the cabin used high quality
materials with a driver-focused centre console and a timelessly minimal styling
aesthetic.
Supplied new by Mangoletsi of
Knutsford, this Spider 2.2 JTS has covered 86,000 miles in the hands of three
former keepers (the current since 2017) and comes with a good service history
comprising 9 stamps in the book plus PDI, the last at 85,123 miles in May 2021.
The timing belt was changed at 83,047 miles.
As
you can see in the photos, it looks very clean and tidy for its age/mileage and
the electric soft top still works as it should. The paintwork is excellent and
the only real fault we noticed was the driver’s door window which went down fine
but was then reluctant to come up again. Supplied with two key fobs, it has an
MOT until April 2023 with no advisories recorded.
The Italians instinctively know how to design a great-looking
sportscar and this gorgeous Alfa Spider is at least as pretty as its
illustrious forebears and is sure to draw admirers wherever it goes.
AMENDMENT: On close inspection the paintwork on this car is
acceptable rather than excellent as previously stated. The service book states
'Timing change done' at 83,047 miles rather than timing belt, the garage
confirming that it had a new timing chain.
