Few owners,
the current since 1993; restored and repainted in the mid-1990s and only lightly

The
Mercedes-Benz 280 SE was produced in sedan, coupe and convertible versions.
Designed by Friedrich Geiger, who
also styled the 300SL Gullwing,
these elegant designs still turn heads today. Power for the 280 SE came from a
2.8-litre inline-six engine that produced 180 horsepower by way of Bosch fuel
injection.
BEG844J
was first registered in February 1971 and only had two owners before the current
vendor. The original owner was apparently the Welsh actor and comedian Mr Stan
Sennet. The current owner purchased the car in February 1993 for the princely
sum of £725! At this time the car underwent an extensive restoration which
included four new Mercedes doors, new sills, rear panels and bottom well
recess. There were new seals fitted throughout and the car resprayed in the
original Mercedes silver two pack paint. There are invoices for the work carried
out.
Since the work, the car has been garaged and only used in dry
weather for shows and the like. The engine was changed in the period 2000-2003
when the car was off the road, the donor engine coming from the same year
and model.
