1972 MGB Roadster
Lovely chrome bumper 'B in
super, freshly restored order; USB stick of 200+ restoration images -
ready to be enjoyed
Dating from May 1972 this
cracking chrome bumper ‘B really looks the part following what looks to have
been a substantial restoration.
Sitting on a
set of charming centre-knock wire wheels shod with decent tyres, the car sits
well, started promptly and ran as it should while we moved it around for these
shots.
Under the bonnet, we find the familiar
B-series 1.8-litre four-cylinder driving the rear wheels via four-speed manual
with O/D. Inside the cosy cockpit,
we find a re-trimmed leatherette interior piped orange to match the body colour
- Bronze Yellow, crackle finish dash and original three-spoke steering
wheel.
The history file includes the V5C
showing five former keepers, the current for the last year, a USB memory stick
containing 200+images of the MGB prior to, and during strip-down and restoration
which shows the car in a completely stripped state with corrosion repairs,
suspension and engine strip down and re-paint.
In addition, the file also includes some black and white printed
images, old tax discs, a tome of invoices for restoration parts dated through
2021 - early 2022 and four old MOTs dating back to April 2000 at which time the
car showed 93,154 miles (now showing 93,906) suggesting only nominal use over
the last 22 years.
This freshly restored
example looks very sharp and a testament to the time, effort and money
spent on the car. A Great British Marque and icon.
