2003 Porsche Boxster S (986)
Appealing two
owner facelift Tiptronic S example from 17 year ownership showing just 49,709
miles with considerable history
Supplied new by
Porsche Centre Colchester in October 2003, this striking Guards Red (L84A) 986
generation Boxster S really does look the business with its contrasting black
Mohair hood and silver 18” 996.2
five-spoke alloy wheels (411).
The spec of this
two owner, 49,709 mile example is extensive, and includes Porsche crested
headrests (XSC), branded stainless steel door guards (X70), stronger battery
(197), five-speed triptronic transmission (249), automatic anti-dazzle internal
mirror with rain sensor (265), automatic anti-dazzle door mirrors (266),
headlamp washer (288), seat heating (342), tiptronic buttons for steering wheel
(432), eight-way electrically adjustable seat RH & LH (437 & 438), radio
preparation (441), colour crested wheel centre caps (446), automatic speed
control (454), Porsche stability management (476), driver’s seat memory (538),
wind deflector (551), top tinted windscreen (567), charcoal filter (571),
automatic AC (573), Xenon lights (601), park assist (635), BOSE sound (680),
Becker 6-CD changer (692), Becker CDR23 radio (697), leather dashboard and door
panels (981) and leather seats (983) – quite the
specification!
Mounted mid-ships in this
face-lift Boxster S we find the potent 3.2 litre flat-six engine which develops
254bhp (up from 247 of the pre-2002 facelift) driving the rear wheels via
five-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission. As a facelift variant, it also benefits
from a heated glass rear screen, glove box, redesigned steering wheel, re-worked
exhaust and intake, and re-styled front and rear lights (no longer referred to
as ‘fried egg’ headlights now!).
The history
file for this smart low mileage example includes the V5C confirming just one
former keeper to our vendor who has enjoyed the car since November 2005, the
owner’s pack and service book revealing eight service stamps, the last by
Autostrasse Porsche Specialists in November 2021 at 49,402 miles along with a
further seven stamps for brake fluid changes, the last at the same time as the
last service.
In addition, we also find a host
of supporting invoices for routine maintenance and parts plus some 15 old MOTs
and the current, valid until April 2024 which recorded no advisories. Ready to be enjoyed the car looks
uncommonly well for a Boxster of this age, no doubt down to two caring owners
and low mileage. One to buy
and enjoy.
