1999 Porsche 911 Carrera
4 (996)
Earlier 3.4 Carrera 4
Tiptronic S in an attractive colour scheme wearing pretty 997 alloy wheels with
scope to improve: fresh MOT
Dating from March 1999
this earlier 3.4 engine 996 generation of water-cooled flat six Coupe comes to
us in Ocean Blue Metallic and rides on a set of attractive 19inch alloy wheels
usually found on the later 997 Carrera S model which really set it off visually
in conjunction with the silver Zunsport mesh grills in the front.
The
option codes for this example (as taken off the underside bonnet sticker)
include full blue Metropol Blue leather (EG), five-speed automatic/tiptronic
transmission (249), two-way electrical adjustment Sports seats LH & RH (375
& 376), tiptronic buttons for steering wheel (432), three-spoke steering
wheel (436) and automatic speed control (454). This example also looks to have
been fitted with paddles to change gear in tiptronic mode which is usually
either installed by Porsche through their 09991-option code for bespoke fittings
which is not mentioned on the options code here or by after-market
fitment.
The history file includes the V5C showing 10 previous owners,
some 15 old MOTs and new MOT valid until June 2023 with five advisories
(enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk), brochures and a ream of invoices
for parts and routine maintenance including new A/C pipes, service kit and
ignition coil in 2016, speed, ABS sensor, oil pressure sensor and window
regulator in 2015 with further invoices dating back a number of
years.
The car looks appealing in its colour scheme with Sports seats and
sat on the 997 wheels, the odometer showing 116,762 miles. There are a few marks
(as pictured) to the car and we did note on moving it around for these images
there was a slight ticking noise on idle – but then the car is priced at an
appealing price point should it require some remedial work and has been sitting
for some time prior to the sale on a military camp at Credenhill,
Hereford.
Bidders are advised that the car has just passed an MOT which
expires in mid June 2023 showing advisories on two tyres, brake discs and an oil
leak (which will need sorting sooner than later)...
