Supplied new in January 2008 by Porsche Centre East London, this attractive facelift model 957 series Cayenne S is finished in Basalt Black and rides upon recently refurbished (including new centre caps) 20” five-spoke Cayenne Sport Design alloy wheels shod in recent Michelin tyres and big silver brake callipers hiding behind.

Under the bonnet, as the face-lift 2008-2010 ‘S’ variant, we find an enlarged naturally aspirated and potent 4.8 litre V8 engine (up from 4.5 litres) which develops 380bhp and a whopping 500NM of torque driving all four wheels via six-speed Aisin Warner automatic/tiptronic transmission.  As a result, performance is brisk to say the least with astounding handling for a vehicle of this weight and size – Porsche really did make a sports car on stilts that works.

Inside, we find a well optioned cabin including (optional, £1,958) smooth black leather with electric multi-adjustable heated front seats, heated leather multi-function steering wheel, on-board computer, PCM (Porsche Communication Management) with phone module, navigation, automatic digital climate control with AC, anthracite headlining, sun protection glass, park assist, silver trim, tinted privacy glass and, regular coil suspension rather than the often irksome air suspension (which is known to fail).

Showing just 113,883 miles the car’s history file includes the V5C recording just two former keepers to the current of ten years (a lady), the owner’s pack and service book revealing six stamps, the last in October 2020 by Porsche Centre, Tonbridge at 106,442 miles, plus a further six stamps for brake fluid changes (again, the last in October 2020), three stamps for LongLife Guarantee condition reports and one for air bag checks.

We also find two keys and current MOT valid until April 2023 which recorded no advisories.  Driven some 65 miles to the sale, the vendor reported the car drove well, although the engine management light came on intermittently and has done so since arrival with us.  Bar that, the car looks ready to enjoy and looks huge value for such a clean, tidy and powerful Sports SUV with that legendary badge on the bonnet….
