Supplied new by AFN
Porsche of Reading in May 2000, this attractive 986 series Boxster is finished
in Black Pearl metallic (L744) with black mohair hood.
Mounted
amid-ships is the potent 3.2-litre M96 flat-six engine developing 247bhp which
drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The spec of this
example includes full Red leather (MC), a stronger battery (197), 2-way electric
Sports seats, left and right (375 & 376), CD compartment (424), radio
preparation (441), wheel caps with coloured Porsche crest (446), wind deflector
(551), top tinted windscreen (567), activated charcoal filter (571), automatic
air conditioning (573), storage box (584), prep for CD changer (689), Becker
CDR-22 Radio/CD (695), leather dashboard and door panels (981) and leather seats
(983).
Showing just 78,680 miles, the car’s history file backs this up
nicely and includes the V5C revealing the car to have had five former
keepers to the current, an old V5C, the owner’s pack with manuals and service
book showing nine service stamps plus 2 hand-written entries, the last
stamp in November 2021 at 75,358 miles by Dave Griffiths Porsche
Specialists, Shrewsbury. Following the service, other works identified at that
time were attended to which cost some £2,456 and included six new ignition
coils, new top strut mount bearings, two front springs, two tie rod ends, two
tie rod ball joints, two lower wishbone arms wirh ball joints, four new wheel
bolts and a four-wheel alignment.
Prior to that, the last service
included a new clutch and flywheel. Furthermore, there are an additional 3
stamps for brake fluid changes and 1 for the 2 year condition report. The file
also includes a selection of invoices for parts and maintenance including a new
OSF window regulator in January 2018, new suspension arms, engine mount, new
coolant expansion bottle and air flow meter through 2017.
In addition, we
also find four old MOTs, VOSA MOT history and current MOT valid until
October 2022 with no advisories recorded. The MOT history shows the car was
unused, off the road for much of 2019/2020 partly due to the Covid rulings and
saw little, if any use during this period covering little more than 5,000 miles
over the three years between MOT in 2018 and its most recent MOT in October
2021.
Presenting well with its appealing colour combination, this
pre-facelift manual transmission 3.2 S looks very appealing particularly given
it’s attractive estimate so get bidding!
