Desirable example with 3.0 V6 engine and 7G-tronic 'box; nice spec inc. heated seats with air-scarf and navigation

Dating from March 2008 this R171 generation of Mercedes SLK comes to us in desirable SLK280 guise and is finished in Obsidian Black and sits upon its original 16” five-spoke alloy wheels shod with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres.

Under the shapely, almost SLR-like bonnet of this late, pre-face-lift example, we find the 3.0 M272 V6 petrol engine which produces 228bhp and 300NM of torque driving the rear wheels, here, via optional 7G-tronic automatic/tiptronic transmission offering a zero to sixty mph time of just 6.7 seconds and a maximum limited top speed of 155mph – more than enough to blow those Covid cobwebs away!

Inside, it has black leather seats with manual adjustment and the very cool, and desirable ‘Air-scarf’ option which lets the seat blow warming air around your neck should you get a little chilly with the top down, creating the feeling of wearing a warm scarf – what will they think of next?  In addition, thethere are electric windows, electric mirrors, fully automated electric folding metal roof with heated rear screen, multi-function steering wheel, on-board computer, three-stage heated seats, automatic lights, dual zone climate control with AC, navigation/in-car entertainment Comand module, traction control and cruise control.

Presenting well with the roof functioning as intended, the car moved around with ease for these images and video with the only marks notable being as pictured, with the strips either side of the rear window bubbling somewhat, which are vinyl strips and readily replaced.

The car shows just 111,191 miles which have been covered by five owners which is supported by an impressive 11 stamps in the service book, the last in January 2022 at 108,322 miles by MAC Automotive. In addition, we find the V5C, a couple of invoices for routine maintenance including replacement rear springs in March 2021 and the last service plus one old MOT. The current MOT is valid until January 2023 with no advisories recorded and thus is ready to be enjoyed.
