1993 Ford Sierra Azure Estate MkII
Rare to see
late model facelift MkII Sierra estate from 10 year ownership featuring
full length roof-rack; really rather nice example with lots of useful
maintenance history
Dating from February 1993
this late model Sierra Estate face-lift MkII comes to us in Azure spec and is
finished in a lovely hue of blue, and sits upon its original 14” eight-hole
alloy wheels and boasts a considerable, removable roof-rack up top increasing
its carrying capacity hugely. The ideal camping car!?
Under the bonnet, we find the overhead cam 1.8 litre CVH engine
(1,769cc) which develops 86bhp and drives the rear wheels via five-speed
manual transmission. Inside, we
find light grey cloth seats with manual adjustment, manual windows, manual wing
mirror adjustment, manual glass sunroof, original Ford radio/cassette player and
seat back pockets.
Showing 12,777 miles
(112,777 miles) the car has been with our vendor and long term owner since
August 2012 himself an ex-Ford dealership employee he has used and loved the car
for the past decade, and that shows in the super condition we find this late
example in.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing just two former owners (the last owned the car from 1994-2012), the
owner’s pack with manual and service section recording just one stamp in January
1994 at 14,920 miles by Bristol Street Motors, Worcester.
The
file also includes a useful Haynes manual, selection of invoices for parts and
routine maintenance and current MOT valid until November 2022 recording no
advisories. Recent works include a new rear box and central exhaust section in
September 2021, £234 spent on replacement rear brake shoes, NS wheel cylinders
and NSF lower arm in November 2021, a £356 spend on a replacement ECU, new inlet
manifold gasket, coolant temp sensor, injector and MAP sensor in March 2020 at
108,802 miles, timing belt and water pump in November 2018 at 100,360 miles, an
oil service inc. new sump and cam cover gasket in October 2017 at 89,333 miles
and replacement clutch and timing belt in May 2013 at 61,430
miles.
For a car once so common and popular,
you simply don’t see Sierras on the road which is a crying shame, they were
great cars and to find one in such lovely order with good recent history is
worthy of note and closer inspection. We expect the bidding to be interesting on
this now rare car, particularly at the keen guide price
suggested.
