1995 Jaguar XJR
No Reserve
Four owner example; in storage for the
past six years; rare supercharged 4.0 AJ16S example in lovely unmolested
order serviced and MOT'd in October 2021
Delivered new in April 1995
to its corporate 1st owner, Natwest PLC (Natwest Markets) of
Milton Keynes by H.R Owen of London, this attractive and now rare X306
generation of the Jaguar XJ saloon features the potent supercharged 4.0 litre
AJ16S inline 6-cylinder engine. This developed 326bhp and a whopping 512NM
of torque resulting in a 0-60mph dash of around 5.7 seconds - power went to the
rear wheels via GM’s four-speed 4L80-E automatic gearbox although some cars
featured the ‘standard’ five-speed manual Getrag gearbox.
This appealing
example is finished in dark Blue and rides on its original and very attractive
17inch alloy wheels, not dissimilar in style to those fitted to the XJ220 which
really fill the arches and set the car aside from ‘regular’ X300’s.
Inside, we find light grey leather seats, dark grey dash top roll, centre
console, door tops and traditional walnut trim in great shape given its some 27
years old and showing just over 161,000 miles. Bodily the car is tidy with just
a few marks as pictured to the bumper corners.
In addition, the spec
includes automatic transmission, trip computer, electric seats, automatic
digital climate control with A/C, traction control, cruise control, rear
ventilation, map pockets and sunroof.
The car has spent the last six
years garaged and unused, before being pulled out and put through an MOT in
November 2021. A replacement
gearbox mount was fitted ahead of a Charity rally to be undertaken but this
unfortunately had to be cancelled due to Covid problems in Europe – as a result,
this supercharged 90’s super-saloon is reluctantly offered for sale at No
Reserve.
The history file includes the V5C showing just three
previous owners, owner’s pack, service book showing 10 main dealer stamps and a
further five hand-written entries for annual services up to the last in
2005 at 136,721 miles and one recent stamp for its recent service in
October 2021. Two further stamps are present for anti-corrosion checks by
main dealer.
Furthermore, we also find two recent invoices for the
service items and replacement gearbox mount and nine old MOTs dating from April
1999 at 92,914 miles to February 2014 at 158,573 miles. The current MOT is
valid until October 2022 and recorded three minor advisories for front
discs pitted/worn and corrosion to a NS rear brake pipe.
Ready to be
enjoyed, these X306’s offer practical supercharged fun in a desirable 90’s
package with neat lines, classic Jaguar styling and rarity by the bucket
load.
