Description
1998 Aston Martin DB7 (i6)
Rare
low mileage manual car with a comprehensive service history and attractive
colour combination
The elegant DB7 was designed by Ian Callum while
working for Tom Walkinshaw and used the 3.2-litre straight-six AJ6 engine as a
base. With a thicker block as used in racing and the Eaton
supercharger, it produced 335bhp which delivered a 0-60 time of
just 5.4 seconds.
All this power was driven through a five
speed Getrag gearbox. Together with the supercharger howling and better weight
distribution, its thought to be a better driver's car than the V12. The interior
has a gorgeous leather and walnut trim, with thick Connolly hide seats and
matching piping.
This DB7 was originally supplied to Five Oaks Garage,
the Aston Martin dealer in the Channel Islands. The service book has 13
stamps to 39,119 miles and now shows just over 41,000 miles, that averages at
just some 1,700 miles per year over it's pampered life.
It is a completely
standard car apart from the sports exhaust, which is an AM upgrade. It’s
never been driven in the wet in the current ownership and only waterless wax has
been used on the bodywork. It’s had new boot struts, a brand new wing
mirror and a new battery was also fitted. For the recent MOT, it just
required a new set of wipers, which were replaced.
There
are many invoices supporting it's care over the years and it now
has a fresh MOT to February 2023. This stunning car is far from the average
DB7 and is a highly desirable yet affordable
Aston.
