2000 Skoda Felicia Fun Pick-up
Desirable
example showing just 53,454 miles with hard-to find and valuable Truckman rear
canopy; lowered suspension
Dating from August
Yr.2000, this funky and versatile Skoda Felicia Fun pick-up is of course,
finished in yellow with half yellow leather interior and a pair of hidden, fold
out rear seats – ideal for kids and summer use.
Under the bonnet, we find the 74bhp 1.6-litre 8-valve Mpi
engine offered in the ‘Fun’ variant, driving the front wheels via 5-speed manual
transmission (also the only option).
Perceived
and offered as a ‘Lifestyle’ choice it was a little outside of VW’s usual
thinking at the time, with a limited run of 3,000 planned for the UK, however so
popular was it, that 4,000 ended up being sold here.
This example comes to us from an enthusiast of this model, the
other example in the sale also hailing from the same source in Scotland and both
are in a similar state with similarly low mileages.
Showing just 53,454 miles the pick-up features the desirable
Truckman rear load area cover although the rear window is missing. Requiring a
degree of cosmetic improvement, the truck could be used ‘as is’ or improved
cosmetically to really become something special. Riding on its original wheels, we note
the vehicle has been lowered giving it improved stance and presence although the
ride is likely to be firmer than normal, but nothing a set of stock springs wont
likely sort out if its not your thing.
The
history file includes the V5C showing six former keepers and an MOT valid until
28th May 2022 recording three advisories - two brake pipes
corroded or covered in grease/other material and a third for corrosion to
the inner arch near the suspension mounting point. There are an impressive 17
old MOTs which support the lower mileage, handbook, period sales media, info on
the aftermarket tonneau covers and a host of invoices for parts and maintenance
dating back to 2004. It had a new battery in Nov-21, timing belt change and new
exhaust in April 2012 at 22,873 miles and its most recently documented oil
change and rocker cover gasket in August 2015.
Lots of Fun potential for sure and an interesting investment given
what these oddities have been making in recent times it looks an enticing
prospect.
