Description
2004 Volkswagen Passat W8 (B5.5)
Extremely
rare JDM spec 4-Motion (All-wheel drive) 4.0 W8 saloon with only 87,184Km
recorded
Dating from 2004, this rare later model W8
of B5.5 Generation Passat features the potent 4.0 litre BDN/BDP 32-valve W8
engine which develops 271Bhp and 370NM of torque, enough to propel this nicely
understated family saloon to 60mph in just 6.8 seconds and on to a limited top
speed of 155mph.
The W8 models are all-wheel drive, denoted ‘4Motion’
power going to the wheels via 5-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission. The W8
variant was tipped as the top level in Luxury within the Passat range and was
used as a test bed for VW’s W-engine configuration that would later make an
appearance in the W12 Phaeton, Bentley GT and W16 Bugatti
Veyron.
This luxurious example, finished in Black is typically
understated with only a W8 badge to the front grill and discreet
4Motion badge on the rear with quad tail pipes protruding from the lower
rear bumper edge the only subtle hints at what lies within.
Showing just 87,184Km (54,173 miles) this RHD W8 has been in the UK
since the early part of 2018 and had 4 UK owners in this time as on the V5C. The
car comes with the usual high spec of a W8 including leather interior with
electric adjustment and driver memory, multi-stage heated seats, rear heated
seats, rear window blind, leather door cards (with some sag), after market JDM
spec multi-media screen, wood trim and digital climate control with A/C.
In addition to the V5C, the file includes 2 old MOTs showing the
Km reading at first MOT to be 72,543Km (45,076 miles) along with the current
ticket, valid until July 2022 with no advisories recorded and a folder of
Japanese history and additional set of English manuals.
An
unusual car with uncommonly low indicated mileage in what looks like nice order.
Interesting.
