2001 Land Rover Defender 90

Tremendously in vogue and tidy TD5 showing just 130,567 miles in nice, honest, usable shape

Dating from February 2001 this tidy and appealing Defender looks to have been supplied new in Northern Ireland looking at its registration history and comes to us in short wheel base 90inch form. The current Devon based owner has enjoyed the truck since November 2017 covering c.25,000 miles in this time, the vehicle having been driven to the sale without issue.

Considered to be in largely original order, the truck appears uncommonly clean both underneath and atop, evidently being the subject of love and affection with a few added extras including wing top checker plate with stand up vents, black light surrounds and grill, black side steps, 16inch alloy wheels with chunky Cooper Discoverer STT-Pro tyres, twin vinyl seats with central cubby box containing additional speakers, 3-spoke steering wheel, aluminium gear knobs, smart tailored rubber matting, Defender branded internal door handles and work table in the rear with folding seats.

Showing 130,657 miles, which is modest for a Defender of this age, the truck looks to be in good order bar the few minor cosmetics as pictured. The history file includes the V5C which suggests just 1 former keeper – however, an Experian HPI check suggests this to be incorrect, and it to have had 6 former keepers. In addition, we find an Irish NCT (MOT) test certificate from 2011, 4 old MOTs, couple of sundry bills and information on a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm system.

The current MOT certificate is not on file but is valid until January 2022 with 2 advisories recorded for slight play in an offside front wheel bearing and an oil leak, not excessive. Buyers please note, there is a mileage discrepancy at MOT in December 2016, but the mileage either side of this looks to be correct, so we assume it was noted incorrectly at 19,254 miles.
