2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK200
Kompressor
Smart earlier W209 series CLK
with punchy supercharged 1.8 4-pot developing 161Bhp with manual 'box in an
attractive colour
Attractive earlier W209
generation CLK in 200 Kompressor guise featuring the supercharged M271 1.8 litre
four-cylinder engine developing (as an 02-06 model) 161Bhp and useful 240NM of
torque giving a 0-60mph time of under 9 seconds if specified with the rarer
6-speed manual transmission as we find here in this example driving the rear
wheels.
Finished in a lovely shade of dark blue the car comes to us in
Avantgarde spec which features slightly lowered suspension over the softer
sprung Elegance model and rides on its original 5-spoke 16inch alloy wheels. We
also note the car has tinted rear windows further adding to its
appeal.
Inside, we find beige cloth, automatic seatbelt butlers, glass
sunroof, dual zone climate control with AC, silver dash trim, multi-function
steering wheel, on-board computer, manual seat adjustment, head light wash,
automatic lights, electric folding mirrors, traction control, rear head-rest
drop, after-market CD/DVD in-car entertainment and cruise control with speed
limit function. The interior shows some signs of age and use with some localised
damage to the speaker covers on the door cards as pictured and some staining to
the seats which would no doubt benefit from a good wet-vac and clean.
The
car comes to us from 8 years of lady ownership confirmed by the history file
which includes the V5C showing 5 former keepers, an old V5C, service book
revealing 7 stamps, the last by Mercedes-Benz Hampstead in 2010 at 70,519 miles,
CoC, few historic invoices, 9 old MOTs and current, valid until October 2022
with no advisories recorded. The MOT history shows the car has seen only limited
use since 2016, with only c.5,000 miles covered in the last 5 years and
currently shows 107,693 miles.
Ready to be enjoyed, these supercharged
CLK’s go well and return impressive economy in a sleek design with genuine
seating for 4 adults should you need combined with the rarer manual ‘box and a
more sporting Avantgarde spec.
