Description
2008 Ford Focus ST-500
Rare, 1 of 500 Limited
Edition Focus ST with potent 5-pot turbo engine developing 225bhp; a discreetly
menacing machine
Dating from March 2008 this
‘finale’ version of the popular MkII Focus ST was limited to just 500 (hence the
name!) and utilises the proven Volvo-sourced 2.5-litre turbo-charged 5-cylinder
engine developing 225Bhp driving the front wheels via manual
transmission.
To differentiate it from the regular ST model, all ST-500’s
are finished in metallic black with most having the silver central stripe to
echo Ford’s classic racing livery from their 1969 Le Mans outing.
This
car appears not to have had the outlandish silver bonnet, or
stripe and looks rather meaner as a result. It does however boast the other
ST-500 accoutrements over the stock ST spec including red-leather trim, making
those big, figure hugging Recaro seats look even more inviting, sat nav, rain
sensing wipers and ST-500 decals.
Showing just 83,000 miles, this
presentable car looks well as a 3-door variant in black, sitting on 18-inch
alloy wheels finished in silver/grey and appears to be in stock order
(unmodified) with no obvious modifications we could see, or the known to the
vendor.
The car’s history file includes the V5C showing 10 previous
owners, 2 old MOTs, VOSA MOT history print-out and the current MOT valid until
November 2021 with just 2 advisories recorded for wear to all 4 tyres and front
coil springs corroded.
Ready to be enjoyed, this Fast Ford was driven up
to us from the Forest of Dean by its elderly owner with a smile on his face.
Buyers please note, the car was recorded Damaged, Category-D in June
2016.
