1998 Rover 827 Hearse
No
Reserve
Left active service in the late 2000s, used as a
promotional vehicle for a tattoo parlour; all sorts of
potential....
The early
history is unknown on this hearse, but the MOT database shows it being tested in
Great Horwood in Buckinghamshire in 2006. Only showing 33,000 miles then, we
assume that this was the area it was originally used for official
duties.
Regularly tested, the mileage has
steadily grown to 75,700 miles and after being purchased in 2010 by the current
registered keeper, it appears to have been used for publicity for his tattoo
parlour.
In 2015/16,
MOTs became a little bit of a struggle to pass due to various corrosion issues,
so an extensive and expensive refurbishment took place, mounting up to just over
£8,000! This involved welding on the bottom of both front wings, replacement of
exhaust parts, attending to other bodywork repairs and a respray to the sides
and rear. A full detailed invoice and photographs document the work done and is
included in the file.
More recently the hearse
has been through an MOT which had no advisories and does not expire until
October 2022. Unfortunately, the tattoo parlour livery has now been
removed and it was driven over 100 miles to us for the auction.
Offered
here with no reserve, so whichever of the multiple uses you might choose for it,
the highest bidder on the day will buy it.
